Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA) was represented by our Executive Director, Dr. Hope Omeiza, at the public hearing on the Bill for A Law to Establish the Kogi State Bureau of Substance Control and Rehabilitation at the Kogi State House of Assembly Chambers.
During the hearing, our Executive Director presented VGADA's memorandum and key recommendations, reinforcing the need for a coordinated, evidence-based approach to substance use prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and recovery.
The fight against substance abuse cannot be won by the Federal Government alone. Subnational governments must take ownership and drive sustainable policies and institutions that protect communities and restore lives.
We commend Kogi State for this important legislative step and remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the response to substance use disorders across Nigeria.
