A RECOGNITION OF COMMITMENT TO THE WAR AGAINST DRUG ABUSE
On Thursday, 13 August 2026, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Buba Marwa (Retd.), presented a Certificate of Commendation to the Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA), in recognition of the organisation’s unwavering support and commitment to the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) in Nigeria.
The recognition is a testament to VGADA’s sustained efforts in prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, advocacy and public education in the fight against substance abuse and addiction.
Following the presentation, the Executive Director of VGADA, Dr. Hope Omeiza, held a closed-door meeting with Gen. Buba Marwa, during which he reaffirmed VGADA’s commitment to providing more expert support and professional collaboration to the Agency and other CSOs working tirelessly to rid Nigeria of substance abuse and addiction.
The fight against drug abuse requires a collective and sustained response. VGADA remains committed to working alongside the NDLEA, government institutions, development partners and CSOs to build a healthier, safer and drug-free Nigeria.
